Giving of Our Gifts

Giving of our gifts at Montezuma United Methodist Church is the only way our ministry and mission is able to continue around our community and within the world. We are each called to give joyfully and out of our own abundance; and of course that's different for each individual or family. The gospel of Luke reminds us that "to much is given, much is expected". So what does that look like for us? It means we give of our time and our talents, and also prayerful consideration in how we share of our financial resources to make a difference for others in God's name.

There is always a refrigerator that needs cleaned, mailings to be labeled, Sunday volunteer spots for greeters and technology, children's sermons to be planned and delivered, liturgists to assist in leading our service, teachers for our Sunday school, singers in the Chancel Choir, homebound folks to visit, and more. What are your gifts? How can you use your time to glorify God in ways to say thanks for all of God's immeasurable gifts to you?

John Wesley, founder of Methodism, challenges us to give of ourselves in one of his most well-known thoughts:

Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.

We are currently exploring ways to share of your financial resources through online giving. In the meantime, you may share these gifts in person during the offertory on Sunday mornings, or you may make out and send a check to:
